Achill, Keel Bay

Wild parking at Achill, Keel Beach is a wide sandy beach where you can enjoy a beautiful open ocean view.
It is quite popular for surfing and it is behind a golf club.
It is 3km wide so it is very enjoyable to walk on the sand, especially during low tide

Achill, Keem Bay

Wild parking at Achill, Keen Bay
Picturesque Keem Bay, ound at the western end of Achill Island. YOu can get there by road over a twisting clifftop route on the side of Croaghaun mountain. Keem Bay is very isolated and provides a peaceful and magnificent retreat from the 21st century.

You will find a beautiful fine sandy beach at the heart of Keem Bay. This beach On each side the beach is surrounded by cliffs; to the east by the slopes of Croaghaun mountain, and to the west by a spar called Moyteoge. At the top of this spar, at an elevation of about 200m, is a former coastguard watch-house. For hillwalkers, this spot marks the start of a a breathtaking 1.5km walk along the top of the cliffs of Benmore towards Achill Head, the most westerly point of Achill Island.
